After emigrating to America, Salva Dut founded the non-profit, Water for South Sudan. This organization builds wells throughout rural Africa. Water for South Sudan is transforming lives in these communities by providing much needed clean drinking water to communities living in water scare areas.
For an entire school week you will participate in a challenge to only drink water (no soda, tea, coffee, or other drinks will be allowed). Over the week, you should save the money you would have spent on these drinks and donate it to Water for South Sudan instead. All of the money raised will be sent to the organization directly and they will use it to build a well in Africa.
You can also ask for sponsors to donate in your name. Sponsors can donate a flat amount or they can pledge to donate a specific amount of money for each day that you follow the challenge. To find out more about this organization please visit their website: www.waterforsouthsudan.org
